American Airlines Douglas DC-7 Mercury JFK-LAX Part 3 Video

A promotional video about one of the first non-stop transconitinental airline flights in the 1950s aboard an American Airlines Douglas DC-7 Mercury. The video covers everything from the "Reservisor" computer that makes the reservation to the meal preparation to the approach and landing in Los Angeles. A great restrospective of a bygone era of air travel.

ahh, trifling matters! Let's get back to important questions such as: Was there any other choice? besides lamb chops?!

Do your homework. ...
Do your homework. You are an example of the poor education that many Americans now receive. Facts: The "rich" paid much higher taxes in the 1950's than they do now. And, the US and state govs built lots of infrastructure? in the 50's and 60's, such as the Calif Water Project and the Interstate Highway System. Do some research before you make a fool of yourself in this forum. As for the point about pollution, it is true that air & water quality are better in the USA now.

You are full of s**t. At least in the old days kids had to be able to read and write before they could go on to the next grade or graduate. In todays liberal union run education system all they have to do is show up for half the school year. I lived in the good old days and once we get rid of this imposter in the White House and his minions the US can return to it's former strength? and prosperity.

Let's get back to ...
Let's get back to the good old days when chemical companies could poison us so they can save a couple of bucks. So the rich could accumulate most of the wealth and the middle class can cut back on luxuries like education for their kids. Where the only place the government had any? business of oversight was in our bedrooms. When we got to spend our own money instead of giving it to the government so they could just waste it on building roads and bridges and tunnels. Amen.

LIberalism brought ...
LIberalism brought us down. Moral relativism, a ridiculous tax code, ever-increasing government intrusion in? our lives, and everything else that liberalism brings.

Thanks for your ...
Thanks for your kind thoughts about the? USA. I recognize that it is still one of the most stable places in the world for business. The legal system, based on English Common Law, is more reliable than in many countries, too. Further, I appreciate the robust physical infrastructure: electricity, n. gas, telecom, roads, rail, water treatment, etc.

the United states ...
the United states is still and forever be the straw that stirs the world......because of what it stands for? and it has existed long enough as a super power for foreigners like myself to trust.

This is the United? ...
This is the United? States when it was on top of the world, circa 1955. Who and what brought us down? This is a lot more than a film about American Airlines. It is about where we were and what we have fallen to.
